With a Song in My Heart is a 1952 American biographical musical drama film that tells the story of actress and singer Jane Froman, who was crippled by an airplane crash on February 22, 1943, when the Boeing 314 Pan American Clipper flying boat she was on suffered a crash landing in the Tagus River near Lisbon, Portugal.
After landing a job singing on the radio, Jane Froman marries musical accompanist Don Ross. Under Don's management, she rises to stardom and is invited to perform for the troops during World War II. En route, her plane goes down, leaving her with serious leg injuries.

As Jane sings, John Burn, who is sitting at her table, remembers her rise to fame: In the mid-1930s, Jane rushes into a Cincinnati radio station to audition for a job. The tardy Jane has missed the audition, however, and mistakes vaudevillian Don Ross for the station manager.
