Mr. North is a 1988 American comedy-drama film starring Anthony Edwards and featuring Robert Mitchum and Lauren Bacall, based on the novel Theophilus North (1973) by Thornton Wilder.
His daughter (Tammy Grimes) hires Mr. North ( Anthony Edwards ) to come and read to him, and North is able to restore the old man's courage and get him back on his feet again. He performs other small miracles.
