After his father, King Eurich (Mel Ferrer), goes missing on an expedition, Viking prince Thorvald (Lee Majors) launches a journey to find him. Accompanied by his loyal friend, Ragnar (Cornel Wilde), and the eccentric mystic Death Dreamer (Jack Elam), Thorvald sails to a faraway land where he discovers that a local tribe has captured the king and his men.
