The Story of Demetrius. After Christ was crusified, his robe had survived among his apostles. Demetrius, a follower of Christ, would become embroiled in the mad emperor Caligula's obsessive search for the robe and the destruction of the Christians, whom become a threat to his power.
When Demetrius (Victor Mature) refuses to help Caligula find the holy object, Caligula has him arrested and forces him to fight in the arena in battles to the death.
