Burning Paradise (Foh Siu Hung Lin Ji 火燒紅蓮寺) is a 1994 Hong Kong action film directed by Ringo Lam. The film is set in the Qing dynasty and stars Willie Chi Tian-sheng as Fong Sai Yuk and Yang Sheng as Hung Hei-kwun. The film was a box office failure in Hong Kong.

Apr 28, 2021 · Film Review: Burning Paradise (1994) by Ringo Lam. A gothic horror infused martial arts epic with its canvas seeped in blood and arguably his finest achievement. During the early 1990's there was an incredible array of outstanding films to emerge from the final embers of the Hong Kong New Wave.
More than anything else, "Burning Paradise" is a horror movie. Instead of a haunted house where visitors die, you have prisoners in a temple in which there seems to be no escape. Still, the movie is well made.
Thrown into a pit of corpses and left to die, Fong survives and attempts to save his Shaolin brothers. Produced by Tsui Hark, Burning Paradise is a dark fantasy epic, filled with shocking violence and incredible choreography.
