Feb 21, 2020 · Cries Of Pleasure - The Final Word: Cries Of Pleasure is quirky, kinky, sexy and weird. Like a lot of Franco's pictures, it has a very strange personal feel to it at times and there are moments where the picture dabbles in oddball surrealism, but it is compelling in the way that so much of the late director's work tended to be.
Cries of Pleasure, from prolific Spanish sleaze-merchant Jess Franco, is mostly soft-core sex with very little story. If non-stop bumping and grinding is what you're after, complete with full frontal nudity from both sexes, then this is the film for you, but I would have liked a bit more plot to go with endless nookie, which I soon found rather tiresome.

Five actors in a beautiful villa shot in scope are all Franco needs to perform his cinematic alchemy. Cries of Pleasure is peak Franco - mesmerising and free to fuck itself hard with a script that was probably typed on gossamer.
