After her mother's death, Nazil (Sara Sommerfeld) is raised in Sweden by her traditional Iranian father, Abbas (Said Oveissi). Still steeped in old customs, Abbas sets up his modern-minded daughter to marry her cousin Hamid (Rafael Edholm). Less than interested, Nazil instead starts a relationship with a young Swede named Johan (Alexander Skarsgård).
