Synopsis. On a South Pacific island in 1943, the crew of PT-73 tries to make money on delayed race results, but the scheme backfires, and they find themselves $2,000 in debt to a group of Marines. An attempt to win the money at a New Caledonia gambling casino fails.
Another film, also called McHale's Navy, was released in 1997 with a completely different plot and an entirely different cast except for Borgnine playing a 35-year-older McHale.
