OTHER VIEWS: Taking their cue from an emotionally negative review by Bosley Crowther in The New York Times, most critics throughout the years have gleefully lambasted Main Street to Broadway. I very much doubt if any of these self-styled "cinema historians" have actually bothered to see the film.
Main Street to Broadway is a 1953 American romantic musical comedy-drama film by independent producer Lester Cowan, his final credit, in collaboration with The Council of the Living Theatre, which provided tie-up with a number of well-known Broadway names.

The main story is pure pablum rating about two stars but the chance the film provides to see masses of mid-century theatrical legends most of whom made few films as well as 50's New York City is five star.
