Luther Monroe Perkins, Jr. (January 8, 1928 – August 5, 1968) was an American country music guitarist and a member of the Tennessee Three, the backup band for singer Johnny Cash. Perkins was an iconic figure in what would become known as rockabilly music.

As lead guitar player for Johnny Cash from 1955 until 1968, he was responsible for creating the very distinct sound behind Cash. Perkins, along with bass player Marshall Grant, became known as "The Tennessee Two". He played several different guitars, including the Fender Telecaster.
