Timothy Michael Kaine (/ k eɪ n / KAYN; born February 26, 1958) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator from Virginia since 2013. As a Southern Democrat, he served as the 70th governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010, and as the 38th lieutenant governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006.
Tim Kaine has helped people throughout his life as a missionary, civil rights lawyer, teacher, and elected official. He is one of a few dozen people in American history to have served as a Mayor, Governor and United States Senator.
