John Dimitri Negroponte (/ ˌ n ɛ ɡ r oʊ ˈ p ɒ n t i /; born July 21, 1939) is an American diplomat. In 2018, he was a James R. Schlesinger Distinguished Professor at the Miller Center for Public Affairs at the University of Virginia.
