  7. Martin J. Stern, Jr., an architect based in Beverly Hills, designed numerous hotels and casinos in Nevada, most of them in Las Vegas. The building was the largest three-wing tower constructed in the city at that time; yet only four years later, in 1973, it gained a 1,500-room wing, doubling its capacity.
