Elizur Holyoke (c.1618 — 1676) of Springfield, Massachusetts was an English colonist, surveyor, scribe, soldier, the namesake of the mountain, Mount Holyoke, and indirectly, of the city of Holyoke, Massachusetts.
Capt Elizur Holyoke. Elizur was baptized at St. Lawrence Jewry in London, England on 4 May 1617, and was 20 years old when he arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1637 or 1638. He was the son of Edward Holyoke Jr. and Prudence Stockton. He was a farmer and land owner.
