Tom Tiffany introduced a bill Tuesday that would designate the area as a national park, upgrading it from its current designation as a national lakeshore.

Thomas P. Tiffany (born December 30, 1957) is an American businessman and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Wisconsin's 7th congressional district since winning a special election in 2020.
Congressman Tom Tiffany represents the 7th Congressional District of Wisconsin. Rep. Tiffany was elected in May 2020 in a special election for the seat. Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. Tiffany served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate for the 12th District.

Tiffany attended the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, where he completed a degree in agricultural economics. He owned and operated a river cruise company and worked as a dam tender. Tiffany was a town supervisor in Little Rice, Wisconsin, and served on the Oneida County Economic Development Board of Directors.

Tiffany voted against certifying the electoral votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania. The House rejected both objections by a vote of 121-303 for Arizona and 138-282 for Pennsylvania.
