Since learning was highly praised at Court and essential for a career as a diplomat, George received an excellent education, speaking fluent French together with some Italian and Latin. His two sisters are known to have been educated abroad (Mary from 1514 to 1519, Anne from the spring of 1513 to late 1521).

He excelled at mastering French which may be thanks to spending time in France as a child when his father was posted at the embassy there from January 1519.

George Boleyn. On May 15, 1536, took place one of the most sensational trials of the 16 th century. George Boleyn, the brother of Queen Anne, answered charges of high treason—that he had committed incest with his sister and conspired at the king’s death. Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII, had directly before been found guilty of treason.
It has been claimed that George Boleyn was educated at Oxford University but his name does not appear in the university records. However, it is clear that he received an excellent education and inherited his father's talent for languages and was fluent in Latin and French.
GEORGE BOLEYN, Viscount Rochford (d. 1536), was the son of Sir Thomas Boleyn, earl of Wiltshire, and brother of Anne Boleyn.
March 1533 – George, Viscount Rochford, was sent to France to present King Francis I with letters from Henry VIII, “written in the King’s own hand” informing the French king of his marriage to Anne Boleyn and encouraging his support for this marriage (LP 5. 230).
