The Quincy Historical Society ( QHS) is located at 8 Adams Street in Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. It was founded in 1893 by Charles Francis Adams, Jr. Dr. Edward Fitzgerald is the executive director. The society occupies the former Adams Academy building.

Now home to the Quincy Historical Society whose museum showcases the city’s history from Native American times up through the early 21st century and archives are a major resource for information on local and area history.
Our goal is to promote interest in Quincy’s rich history at the local and national level. We aim to present the pieces of that history that make Quincy famous, but also to examine the parts that have been overlooked, and to connect them to the larger picture of the American story.

Nov 9, 2022 · Since 1972 Quincy Historical Society has been the sole tenant of the building. People come from around the world to visit the museum, donate mementoes related to Quincy, attend a lecture, or do some research at the well-stocked library.
