Cascades Park is a 24-acre (97,000 m 2) park along the stream known as the St. Augustine Branch in Tallahassee, Florida, United States, south of the Florida State Capitol. It is a Nationally Registered Historic Place because it influenced the territorial government's choice of the capital city's location.
Cascades Park is located at 1001 South Gadsden in Downtown Tallahassee. The park is conveniently situated between South Monroe Street, East Lafayette Street and the railroad tracks. Map
Cascades Park is a wonderful gathering place of families, singles, couples, runners, bikers, etc. It's smack dab in downtown surrounded by new apartment buildings. You can walk around the park on a path, there is a bike path nearby, fountains, restrooms, amphitheater, Edison restaurant and more.

This 24-acre park features 2.3 miles of winding trails that are perfect for walking, jogging or biking and are very pet-friendly. The northern end of Cascades Park was once home to the 1890’s SmokeyHollow African-American community, which was disbanded in the mid-1960’s due to urban renewal.
