Guy of Lusignan (c. 1150 – 18 July 1194) was a French Poitevin knight who reigned as the king of Jerusalem from 1186 to 1192 by right of marriage to Sibylla, and King of Cyprus from 1192 to 1194.
In 1342, Amalric's son, Guy de Lusignan, was elected as King of Armenia and took the name Constantine II. He was initially reluctant as the regent, Oshin of Corycos, was rumored to have poisoned the previous king, and killed Guy's mother and two brothers.
Guy was the king of Jerusalem who lost that Crusader kingdom in a struggle with rival Conrad of Montferrat. In 1180 he married Sibyl, sister of the leprous Baldwin IV, king of Jerusalem. When Baldwin died in 1185, Sibyl’s son by a previous marriage, the six-year-old Baldwin V, inherited the crown.

Guy ( c. 1129–94), through his marriage to Sibyl, the sister of King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, got the kingdom in 1186 but lost his capital city in wars with the Muslims (1187) and finally exchanged his empty title for the sovereignty of Cyprus (1192).
Guy de Lusignan is a major character in Defender of Jerusalem and Envoy of Jerusalem. Guy de Lusignan has the distinction of being the man who lost the Kingdom of Jerusalem by leading the Christian army to an unnecessary but utterly devastating defeat at the Battle of Hattin in 1187.
