Korra, the series' protagonist, is the next incarnation of the Avatar after Aang of Avatar: The Last Airbender. 52 episodes in total were produced, spanning four seasons.
The series premiered on April 14, 2012, and ran for a total of 52 episodes. Like its predecessor Avatar: The Last Airbender, the series classifies each episode as a "chapter", but unlike the previous series, where each season was one "book", The Legend of Korra has two seasons, comprised of two distinct "books" each.

Korra leaves the safety of her home in the Southern Water Tribe for Republic City, where she begins airbending training with her spiritual mentor, Tenzin. Korra vows to fight the growing anti-bending revolution led by a masked man named Amon.
These episodes are grouped into four separate seasons ("Books") composed of twelve to fourteen episodes ("Chapters") each, with each season telling a stand-alone story. Beginning with episode 9 of season 3, new episodes were first distributed through the Internet rather than broadcast. The Legend of Korra concluded with the fourth season. [5]
