Doña Bárbara is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by Hugo León Ferrer for Telemundo in 2008–2009. It is based on the 1929 Venezuelan novel Doña Bárbara by Rómulo Gallegos. As with most of its soap operas, the network broadcast English subtitles as closed captions on CC3 until late October, when the network canceled the translations.
