Thorpe, the term was devised by C. Lloyd Morgan (1852–1936) after trying out similar phrases "trial and failure" and "trial and practice". [3] .
In the spirit of true crime documentaries, this outrageous fish-out-of-water comedy features bright-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal who heads to a tiny Southern town for his first big case, where he will defend a poetry professor (John Lithgow) accused of the bizarre murder of his beloved wife.
