The High Chaparral is an American Western action-adventure drama television series that aired on NBC from 1967 to 1971, starring Leif Erickson and Cameron Mitchell. The series was made by Xanadu Productions in association with NBC Productions, and was created by David Dortort, who had previously created Bonanza for the network.
The first season of the western TV series follows the Cannon family as they face Apache attacks, Mexican bandits and cattle rustlers in the Arizona territory of the 1870s. See the episode titles, summaries, ratings and guest stars of the 28 episodes.
Season 1 (1967–1968) The series premiere originally aired as a two-hour TV movie, and was set in the Arizona Territory of America in the 1870s. In part one, Big John Cannon ( Leif Erickson) buys Rancho Rivera in Apache country outside the town of Tucson.
