The Garage Door is the twelfth episode of the Freaks and Geeks TV series. It was written by Gabe Sachs, Jeff Judah, and Patty Lin. It was also directed by Bryan Gordon. The episode first aired on March 13, 2000.
Neal learns that his father is cheating on his mother. Ken develops a crush on the tuba player in the school's marching band, and Lindsay helps set them up for a date. Ken, Amy, Lindsay, Nick, Daniel, and Kim all go to the laser dome to see a Pink Floyd laser show.
•Daniel slept with someone at the laser show, when he and Kim were broken up.
•When Lindsay and her friends are eating at a diner, a wall decorated with U.S. license plates, can be seen behind Nick. In one shot, a New York license plate, with the Statue of Liberty, is visible. These plates were not issued until 1986, and the episode takes place in 1980. Also, many of the license plates on the walls in the diner would not exist until years later, some into the 1990s.
•When Sam, Bill, and Neal are playing the game, Asteroids, on the Atari 2600 that Neal's dad bought for him, they are actually playing the arcade version of Asteroids. The Atari 2600's Asteroids home version (cartridge) looked and sounded different. The 2600 version had solid multi-colored asteroids, while the asteroids were made up of lines that outlined the asteroid in the arcade version.

Jun 29, 2007 · The Garage Door is the twelfth episode of the first season of Freaks and Geeks. Sam finds out that Dr. Schweiber may be having an affair, and the Geeks attempt to find out for sure. Ken meets and falls for a cute band-girl. Daniel and Kim deal with unresolved issues, as do Lindsay and Nick.
Soon after, Neal finds an unfamiliar garage door remote control in his father's car. The three friends start hunting around the neighborhood on their bicycles, searching for the garage door the remote control belongs to.
