Painter Matthew Raine lost his sight and has been wallowing in self pity ever since. He starts to come out of his shell thanks to his new housekeeper, but an unsavory employee wants to keep Raine incapacitated.

In a rather odd saloon brawl Lorne Greene makes the acqaintence of Dan O'Herlihy an artist who is now robbed of his sight due to an illness. He's now mad at the world and taking it out on those closest to him which includes his housekeeper Virginia Grey and hired man Arch Johnson.
Dan O'Herlihy guest-stars as Matthew Raine, a brilliant artist who has gone blind. Wallowing in self-pity, Matthew begins coming out of his self-imposed exile when he befriends housekeeper Ann Loring (Virginia Grey). But a nasty character named Gavin (Arch Johnson), is determined to keep the former artist in a debilitated state.
