Somewhere in Space Hangs My Heart is the third episode of the first season of the Apple TV+ psychological thriller Constellation. It aired on February 21, 2024.
The space agencies begin their investigation into the ISS collision. Jo struggles to reconnect with Magnus and Alice.
Jo and Alice head for the cabin, where she found the other Alice. Alice decides to leave a trail so that they may find their way back.
Weeks earlier, in Star City, Jo is in the hospital recovering. Magnus and Alice watch from outside as Jo undergoes an MRI scan, at which point, Alice remarks that her mother looks dead.
Jo attends a press conference, where she dedicates a moment to the memory of Paul Lancaster. The media questions what exactly caused the accident, but Frederick doesn't allow for Jo to give many answers, as they are in the middle of an investigation. As for Jo's mission, it is still ongoing, and she has nine months of experiments and data collections to tend to. Her specific mission has been to monitor the physical and neurological effects of long-term space travel. Jo feels better than she did a few days ago, though she forgot how the earth smells; there's no seasons or weather in space so it's been nice for her to experience it all again.
The crew gathers to celebrate Paul's memory and discuss where he will be buried. Jo mistakenly refers to his wife as Erica, but she corrects Jo and says her name is Frida.
Eryn informs Henry they brought the machine learning stuff, but it doesn't matter, Henry says. Just before the collision, Henry shows that there was some kind of interference effect. He got the same result when he extracted the data down there at Baikonur, much to Eryn's disbelief, as the CAL can only run in space. Henry doesn't have any physical proof, so he wants to run it again.
Bud awakens in his room, still on the SS Bernice cruise. He looks in the mirror and takes a pill before exiting his room to what appears to be some kind of science fiction convention called Berni-Con IV. He's agreed to a 10-day contract, but he's not satisfied with the terms, adding that it's also bad timing given the ISS incident. To make matters worse, he's having to debate conspiracy theorist Ian Rogers. Bud is sick of the status quo and insists that things will change.
