Article History. Al-Bāḥah, town, southwestern Saudi Arabia. The town is situated on a mountainous plateau at an elevation of 7,014 feet (2,138 metres) and is surrounded by terraced hillsides, which are covered with juniper. It is known as the gateway to the ʿAsīr region, a prosperous agricultural area just north of Yemen.
