Tamiko Bolton was born in the US in 1971, and came under the spotlight after marrying one of the richest people in the world – George Soros, a Hungarian-American investor.
Tamiko was born to a nurse who immigrated to the US from Japan, and to a father who was a naval commander – she spent her early life in California before enrolling at the University of Utah, from which she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 1993. After that, she enrolled at the University of Miami and obtained her Master’s degree in 1995.
Tamiko launched her career in pharmacy and education shortly after obtaining her bachelor’s degree. She is currently working as a licensed pharmacist, while she is also an education consultant; after marrying George, she became an entrepreneur. She has launched her own business through which she sells dietary supplements, including products containing vitamins for those who are exercising, or trying to lose weight. She also has her own website on which she offers yoga lessons.
Tamiko was married one time before George – she exchanged wedding vows with an unknown man in the mid-90s, but it did not last long, and Tamiko has never revealed his identity. Tamiko met George at a party in 2008 – he was married two times prior to making Tamiko his wifein September 2013. Tamiko was 42 at the time of their wedding and George was twice her age, leading the newspapers to write about the newly married couple. The wedding reception was held at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, and counted 500 guests. George’s second wife Adriana Ferreyr filed a lawsuitagainst him, after he gifted Tamiko a $1.9 million apartment in Manhattan which he allegedly promised to give to her – she also attacked Tamiko and the lawyers defending her at the court; the case is still open.

Tamiko is interested in philanthropy and has been made a partner in her husband’s Soros Fund Management – the two have also insisted that instead of people bringing them gifts during their wedding, they should donate money to charity. She proposes that education should be free, and has devoted her life to help educate underprivileged people as well as children with various disabilities. She enjoys reading books in her spare time and is very fond of travelling – she has been to numerous world economic events with her husband, and the two have travelled all around the world during the six years they have been married.
