Established in 1858 and incorporated in 1964, Burnsville is now the ninth largest suburb in the metro area with easy access to Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Burnsville is home to a section of Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, Buck Hill, part of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and the Ames Center (performing arts center).
