Born on September 10, 1955 in San Jose, Costa Rica, Giannina Facio is the daughter of Ana Franco Calzia and Gonzalo Facio Segreda. Her father, who expired in 2018, was a well-known Costa Rican lawyer, politician, and diplomat who spent a number of years in Guatemala. She married Ridley Scott in 2015 and is his third wife.
