May 24, 2019 · While High Point started simply as a shipping town and connecting point for many other towns like Salem, Asheboro, Fayetteville, and Cedar Falls, it didn’t stay that way. As plank roads were laid, and more and more residents began to settle on this “high point,” the town grew. The first census accounted for a total of 525 people.
