  1. 4 had an amazing villain that drives the story, which primal lacks. 4 also had a personal story, which primal lacks. 4 had great characters in its story, which primal lacks. Primal is just running around killing people because they've killed other people. Its a simple and boring revenge story.

  2. Dec 26, 2016 · It is really easy, boringly easy. To clear out almost any enemy camp you can just send beast after beast in while you shoot arrows and toss spears from cover. There is really nothing in this game that is a challenge from the fighting to the resource gathering, to the ... anything.

This one largely goes without saying, given Primal's setting of several thousandyears in the past. Still, it should be emphasized that your array of weapons is far more limited in terms of theatrics and overall impact. Rather than relying on Michael Bay-style explosions or sophisticated tech, this game stresses the use of animals which act essentia...

One of the biggest appeals of this unique adventure is its captivating, sprawling landscapes and its imaginative prehistoric premise. While a direct sequel, like, say Far Cry 4, certainly continued the great legacy of this series, its setting of Maoist-era Nepal didn't feel like a major departure from the green wilderness of the previous entry. Rel...

Unfortunately, while Primal excels in its gripping atmosphere and unique settings, it can be pretty weak on the narrative front. It's understandable, on the one hand, as it's difficult to craft an in-depth, dynamic story given the primitive, stripped-down nature of this 10,000 BC setting. Still, Ubisoft perhaps could have come up with something a b...

You wouldn't expect a game that relies on pointy objects and stones for the bulk of its weaponry to have a solid system of crafting and upgrading, but Primal really does excel on this front. Ironically, a large part of this rewarding feel comes from just how basic and limited your palette of weapons and tools begins. You really feel like you're rou...

Primal hinges on a more realistic feel with its more vast and empty environments. While this can invoke a sense of atmosphere and an often eerie feeling of isolation, the flipside of this is it can feel, well, dull at times. This game can take on the vibe of a sort of prettier version of Minecraft at times. In this case, the settings themselves som...

Those who enjoy the hunting aspects of the Far Cry games will almost definitely get something out of this one. This isn't simply because of how much this adventure stresses hunting and gathering, but because of the nuances related to these elements. More than ever in Primal, much of the crafting and progression hinges on utilizing resources from an...

Those who appreciate the Far Cry series for its Splinter Cell brand of intricate stealth gameplay might find something lacking here. Oh sure, you've still got your trademark takedowns, and enemy camps which you can creep your way into to more easily overtake. Related: Far Cry 5: 10 Things To Do After You Beat The Game Still, by the very nature of t...

Sure, it can still feel like it's you vs the world when fighting your way through dozens of armed fighters and hostile animals in other FC games. Yet, these can tend to lack that sense of danger, which can diminish the thrilling, entertaining qualities of the games. If you find yourself in dire straits, you can always rely on your high-tech weapons...

Like many on our list, this will boil down to personal taste, but there's definitely a sort of empty, stripped-down nature that can permeate this Primal experience. There's a greater emphasis on exploration and animal hunting, though this can lead to more frequent bouts of "downtime." You might find yourself aimlessly wandering around as you attemp...

Ultimately, the greatest strength of this unique adventure is its ability to tame animals. Ubisoft has cleverly implemented an enjoyable system that serves a number of purposes. You can unleash ravenous tigers as a sort of primitive form of a deadly weapon on unsuspecting tribes, or use an owl to scope out your surroundings or deploy aerial bomb dr...

  4. It's fun for first 5 hours, then it gets boring... I played it only for 7-8 hours and never touched the game again... don't really feel like playing it anymore to be honest, and i didn't even finish main quest... it's just kinda boring. Small amount of weapons, taming animals is just one button press... FC4 was a lot more fun, in my opinion.

  5. Farcry Primal is so boring that I had to replay an old game, Uncharted 3, just to entertain myself. FC Primal doesn't have a captivating story, and I regret buying this game. FC Primal is a rip-off. This should have been released as a cheap DLC.

  6. Feb 22, 2016 · 7.9. Review scoring. good. Far Cry Primal comes to the table with a quiver of neat ideas but it forgot to bring much of a story with it. There's plenty to discover and conquer but it's packing ...
