New College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1379 by William of Wykeham in conjunction with Winchester College as its feeder school, New College was one of the first colleges in the university to admit and tutor undergraduate students.

New College was founded in 1379 by William of Wykeham (1324-1404), Bishop of Winchester, as The College of St Mary of Winchester in Oxford. It very soon became known as New College to distinguish it from an earlier Oxford college (Oriel, founded 1326) also dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
New College is one of the largest Oxford colleges, with some 430 undergraduates and 360 graduates. We are very proud of our wonderful and diverse student community and encourage a friendly, open atmosphere throughout the College in which everyone can flourish both socially and academically, whatever their background.
