    • American Gods. This is it. Of all the best Neil Gaiman books, American Gods comes out on top. This does come with a few caveats, however. American Gods isn’t a perfect novel; it is overly long and its protagonist is frustratingly bland compared to the rest of the book’s cast.

    • The Graveyard Book. Authored by Neil Gaiman. First published in 2008. 312 pages — 4.15 on Goodreads. The Graveyard Book is a 2008 young adult fantasy novel inspired by Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book—except instead of a jungle, the novel is set in a place more familiar to Gaiman: a graveyard.
    • Good Omens. Authored by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. First published in 1990. 491 pages — 4.25 on Goodreads. Good Omens is a fantasy comedy novel co-written between Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
