  1. Jan 5, 2020 · Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a 2-part play written by Jack Thorne, which is based on the story of J. K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Thorne. It is set 19 years after the events of the Potter films and follows Harry, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and Albus Severus Potter as he sets off on his Hogwarts journey. The book ...

  2. Dec 16, 2023 · 6. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Landing at the sixth spot is the book that kicked off our magical journey, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (or Philosopher’s Stone, for those across the pond). This is where we first met Harry, the boy who lived… under the stairs, had a lightning-shaped scar, and an unfortunate knack for ...

    • #1 Book 3: The Prisoner of Azkaban. Concise, well written, and filled with amazing reversals and a steadily maturing cast of characters, Azkaban is certainly one of if not the best books in the entire series.
    • #2 Book 6: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Prince sets an almost impossibly high bar for the ending of the series, and introduces a lot of vital information about the Wizarding World we just didn’t know before.
    • #3 Book 5: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Something of a controversial choice for this high on the list – I would argue, however, that the Order of the Phoenix deserves the bronze medal for best Harry Potter book.
    • #4 Book 4: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This book is not only the middle series in the book, but also a great middle point on this list. Book four is when stuff gets real.
  4. Deathly Hallows. Chamber of Secrets. Phil/Sorcerer's Stone. Some of these are interchangeable, but I feel strongly that Goblet of Fire is inarguably the best book, and I would fiercely debate anyone who puts it lower than 5th (sorry OP!)

    • “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” This book is nothing short of bloody brilliant. Character introduction is key here, finally Lupin blesses us as a good Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and Sirius and Wormtail make their debuts.
    • “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” This book kicks off with intensity when Snape makes the unbreakable vow, promising to kill Dumbledore in the event Malfoy can not, and that pace is maintained.
    • “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” So much information, so few pages: a masterful introduction without the feeling that background is just dumped on us.
    • “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” This book is arguably host to the most important plot point of the series: Voldemort is back. Because the book harbors this, however, it serves as a somewhat awkward bridge between the innocence of adolescence and the impending trauma.
