Apple Corps Limited is a multi-armed multimedia corporation founded in London in January 1968 by the members of The Beatles to replace their earlier company ( Beatles Ltd.) and to form a conglomerate. The name is a pun for its pronunciation "apple core". [1]

In 1978, Apple Corps, the Beatles-founded holding company and owner of their record label, Apple Records, filed a lawsuit against Apple Computer for trademark infringement. The suit was settled in 1981 for the then-undisclosed amount of US$ 80,000 (equivalent to $268,100 in 2023) being paid to Apple Corps. [1]
