Sep 27, 2018 · First thing you need to do is to make sure you're using your Focusrite interface as your interface in Reaper. I have an 18i8 (big brother to your 2i2). Open the audio settings in Reaper and set the System Audio dropdown box to ASIO then make sure the ASIO Driver dropdown box has your interface selected. It shows up as "Focusrite USB ASIO" for me.

May 2, 2019 · I've comfortably worked this system at a buffer size of 32 before, but have tried going up to 256 and there's still a problem. The weird thing is that the meters in Reaper, and the plugin on my monitor FX (EQ to smooth out the headphone mix) behave like as if the audio is smoothly buffered, and don't show any evidence of dropouts.

I'm a newb at PC recording...have used Bandlab Cakewalk a bit, but am frustrated at the difficult (for me) process of slowing the loop tempos without degradation. I'm considering buying Reaper. Would I be able to easily do that in Reaper? Do I need a specific file type to do so (e.g. REX2)?
