From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A Boeing 747-8 in flight The Boeing 747-8 is a jet airliner, and the current production variant of the Boeing 747. It was developed from the Boeing 747-400, with improvements such as more powerful engines, a longer fuselage to hold more passengers, and new wings developed for the Boeing 787.
On November 14, 2005, Boeing announced it was launching the 747 Advanced as the Boeing 747-8. The last 747-400s were completed in 2009. As of 2011, most orders of the 747-8 have been for the freighter variant. On February 8, 2010, the 747-8 Freighter made its maiden flight. The first delivery of the 747-8 went to Cargolux in 2011.

Boeing 747-8I Discontinued? Just recently been updated on Boeing discontinuing it’s Boeing 747-8I. Very sad to see such a majestic aircraft go! Luckily, Boeing still plan to keep the B747-8F in production, but plan to produce in smaller groups due to lack of customers buying/leasing 747’s Jasperiscrazy 21:00, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
