The Valentino Castle in Turin is a UNESCO heritage site. It was originally built during the 16th century as a hunting lodge, and it was enlarged several times during the 17th century. From 1824 it was used as barracks, and from 1861 it became the home of the Polytechnic School. Today it houses the Architecture and Design Department.
