Environment as the Third Teacher. UCLA Lab School is located on six wooded acres at the edge of the UCLA campus. The multi-building complex is designed to engage students in learning, inspire their creativity and connect them to the natural world. Classrooms are set up with flexible seating to promote movement, exploration and collaboration.
UCLA Lab School was founded in 1882 as the demonstration school of the California State Normal School at Los Angeles. Located on the site of today’s Central Library in downtown Los Angeles, the Normal School prepared teachers for educating the growing city.
