Manhattan, New York is a borough of New York City in AMC's The Walking Dead: Dead City.
New York City, New York
Prior to the outbreak, Manhattan was the most densely populated of New York City's boroughs with a population of about 1.5 million people. The borough is situated on Manhattan Island and is bounded by the Hudson, East, and Harlem rivers. Among the world's major commercial, financial, and cultural centers, Manhattan served as the heart of the "Big Apple". Iconic sites and historical landmarks that make up the borough include the Empire State Building, Times Square, and the theaters of Broadway. It also served as the headquarters for the United Nations.
When the outbreak began, the U.S Military destroyed Manhattan's bridges and tunnels in Operation Cobalt in order to contain the outbreak as Manhattan was one of the epicenters. Since then, a herd of one million walkers has accumulated and dominated the streets, leaving only a small civilian population to inhabit the island. The survivors live above...
