On Thursday, the Cubs announced five changes to their player development department. Here are the changes: Matt Dorey, senior vice president, player development. Bobby Bashan, dir of PD. Craig Breslow, director of pitching. Justin Stone, dir of hitting. Jeremy Farrell, assistant dir of baseball development.
The team has added even more tech under the leadership of new director of hitting, Justin Stone and director of pitching, Craig Breslow. “Tom [Ricketts] has been tremendous every step along the way. ... All the technology or support we've asked for, we receive,” Cubs director of player development Bobby Basham said.
Along with Kantrovitz, the player development department has been completely revamped, with former amateur scouting director Matt Dorey shifting over to lead that department.
