The Comunidade Intermunicipal do Médio Tejo (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈmɛðju ˈtɛʒu]; English: Middle Tagus) is an administrative division in Portugal. It was created in December 2008, replacing the former Comunidade Urbana do Médio Tejo created in 2004. It takes its name from the river Tagus.

El Médio Tejo es una comunidad intermunicipal y subregión estadística portuguesa, parte de la Región Centro y de los distritos de Santarém y Castelo Branco. Está situada mayoritariamente en la región histórica y cultural de Ribatejo, con dos municipios ( Sertã y Vila de Rei ) en la región histórica de Beira Baixa .
In 1976 the Ribatejo Province was dissolved. Most of the area belongs to the Santarém District. [1] For EU statistical purposes, it was divided between the Lezíria do Tejo, Médio Tejo, Lisbon metropolitan area and Alto Alentejo subregions ( NUTS III ), belonging to the Centro, Lisbon and Alentejo EU statistical regions ( NUTS II ).
