From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Marshall is a city in the U.S. state of Texas. It is the county seat of Harrison County and a cultural and educational center of the Ark-La-Tex region. At the 2010 U.S. census, the population of Marshall was 23,523; in 2019 it decreased to an estimated 22,831.
Marshall's history began when the area that is now Marshall received its first known settlers in 1839. While activities among Caddos, and other Southeastern Native American peoples certainly took place in the area that is now Marshall, no known settlement existed at Marshall, as was the case of the original location of neighboring Elysian Fields.

Marshall station is a railroad station in Marshall, Texas. It is served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system, which operates the Texas Eagle through Marshall each day, with service north to Chicago and west-southwest to Dallas, San Antonio and Los Angeles. The station also houses the Texas and Pacific Railway Depot & Museum. The ticket office in Marshall is staffed 7 days a week from 7am to 10am, and 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
The station, also known as the T&P Depot, is the only surviving structure of the Texas and Pacific Railway shops complex which originally consisted of fifty-seven buildings spanning 66 acres. The building is located in the Ginocchio Historic District of the National Register of Historic Places and was built in 1912 to house a passenger station and the headquarters of railroad's eastern district. Marshall High School is a 5A public school in Marshall, Texas, United States. It is part of the Marshall Independent School District which serves students in central Harrison County. In 2014, the school was rated "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.
On September 12, 1898, Marshall High School began operation in a building leased from College of Marshall. The first Marshall High School had only two teachers, who instructed 30 students in five subjects: Latin, English, history, math, and science. Student athletes are known as Mavericks and Lady Mavs. MHS competes the following sports: cross country, volleyball, football, basketball, powerlifting, swimming, soccer, golf, tennis, track, baseball, and softball. The Maverick football team has been playing for over 100 seasons, dating prior to 1900. They have been the longest running and most successful team for MHS.

Marshall Creek was a town in Denton County, Texas, United States with a population of 431 at the 2000 census.
Original residents began moving into the small area in the late 1960s, attracted to inexpensive country living. As part of the May 12, 2007, general election, Marshall Creek voters were asked if they wished to consolidate with the nearby town of Roanoke. This proposition was approved by a vote of 72–18. Roanoke voters decided on November 6, 2007 to consolidate Marshall Creek into Roanoke by an 83% margin of victory. Roanoke canvassed the election on November 19, 2007 and the consolidation became official.
