Pedro Miguel de Santana Lopes GCC (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpeðɾu sɐ̃ˈtɐnɐ ˈlɔpɨʃ]; born 29 June 1956) is a Portuguese lawyer and politician, who is the current Mayor of Figueira da Foz. He most notably served as prime minister of Portugal from 2004 to 2005.
Pedro Miguel de Santana Lopes GCC ( Lisboa, 29 de junho de 1956) é um advogado e político português. Foi primeiro-ministro do XVI Governo Constitucional de Portugal, entre 2004 e 2005. Atualmente é presidente da câmara municipal da Figueira da Foz, distrito de Coimbra.

Pedro Miguel de Santana Lopes GCC ( Portuguese pronunciation: [ ˈpeðɾu sɐ̃ˈtɐnɐ ˈlɔpɨʃ]; born 29 June 1956) is a Portuguese lawyer and politician, who is the current Mayor of Figueira da Foz. He most notably served as prime minister of Portugal from 2004 to 2005.
It was in office from 17 July 2004 to 12 March 2005, and was formed by the centre-right coalition between the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the CDS – People's Party (CDS–PP) that was started in the previous government. Pedro Santana Lopes, leader of the PSD, served as Prime Minister.
On January 13, 2018, Rui Rio defeated Pedro Santana Lopes by a 54% to 46% margin, thus becoming the new leader of the PSD. [1] Pedro Santana Lopes was, again, defeated in a PSD leadership contest for a 5th time. Rui Rio was confirmed as the new party leader on a party national congress held in Lisbon between 16 and 18 February 2018. [2]
