  4. To be fair to the actor, I think to portray a character like Dukat in a convincing way you need to sympathize with the character and be able to see the world they inhabit. I don't think it makes up for the creepiness and such but I don't fault Alaimo for feeling the way he does about Dukat. Mark Alaimo is, himself, a very complicated man.

  5. Marc Alaimo did something masterful with his portrayal of Gul Dukat: He made the character sympathetic. Every villain is a hero in their own eyes, they think they're righteous and beneficent in all their dealings, but not every actor has the chops to pull that off.
