DLF Golf and Country Club is a private members-only club. The club's championship golf course includes a new 18-hole challenge designed by Gary Player and the original 9-hole designed by Arnold Palmer.
The DLF G&CC opened in 1999, with the first Arnold Palmer Signature design in India. The club featured many other firsts, notably the first Indian course to offer night golf and first professional golf academy in the country. The club takes its name from its owners, DLF (Delhi Land & Finance) Limited.
The Delhi Golf Club, a municipal course established in the early 1930s became a corporate entity in February 1950. The Course, comprises of the championship 18 hole Lodhi Course, part of the Asian PGA Tour, and the shorter 9 hole Peacock Course. The latter came into being when the course was re-designed by Peter Thomson in 1976-77.
