The feature film rights to the Fever Series were acquired by DreamWorks from Fox. They intended to develop the books into a series of films, starting with Darkfever, but nothing else is known.
The books have been optioned twice for potential franchise development by Twentieth Century Fox and DreamWorks Studios, but the rights are currently held by Moning who has expressed a desire to one day see it as a television series

Variety reports that the feature film rights previously had been set up at Fox’s New Regency arm. The stories, which started with Moning’s 2006 novel Darkfever , follow protagonist MacKayla Lane who journeys to Ireland in search of the person who murdered her sister.
