DALLAS – The 37-story Whitacre Tower in downtown in up for sale. The almost 1 million-sf tower is the largest building in AT&T’s four-building downtown headquarters campus. AT&T’s global headquarters lease in the property runs through 2030. The sale is expected to bring in at least $250 million.
The Whitacre Tower was built in 1982. [1] AT&T moved its headquarters to the tower from a location in San Antonio, Texas, in 2008. Mayor of Dallas Tom Leppert said then he hoped AT&T would stay in the central city. [2] Most of the around 700 workers moving to the Whitacre Tower were moved into 17 floors that were being refurbished.
