Sep 12, 2016 · Boy George was not bent out of shape over Alexis Arquette ’s impersonation of him in “The Wedding Singer”... he actually really dug it. George stopped the Culture Club concert in Maryland Sunday...
The plot of this "Wedding Singer," directed with bland peppiness by John Rando, sticks closely to that of the movie. The title character, Robbie Hart (played here by Stephen Lynch), is a would-be rock star who makes do by fronting a band that plays wedding receptions in Ridgefield, N.J.
Allen Covert as Sammy, Robbie's best friend. Angela Featherstone as Linda, an ex-fiancé of Robbie. Matthew Glave as Glenn Gulia, a businessman and bond investor who is Julia's fiancé. Ellen Albertini Dow as Rosie. Alexis Arquette as George Stitzer, a transvestite singer who is a reference to Boy George.
It's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Heart, who still lives in his grandmother's basement, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his fiance, Linda, leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie is so distraught that he makes every wedding as disastrous as his own.
